Anonymous Why I Want to Teach! 0 Jun 2 2009, 11:56 AM EDT by Anonymous

I want to teach elementary education because I have always enjoyed working with young children. I love seeing their thirst for new information, and how they soak up everything like little sponges. I love their innocence. I love the fact that they still think we adults are "cool", and seek our approval. It gives me great joy to see the enthusiasm that they have when it comes to learning new things. I value education, and I look forward to the opportunity to be a part in providing that educational foundation for our youth. I want to learn about the present educational disparities, and hopefully play a role in "closing the gap". I am also a wife and a mother. I love the scheduling that teaching offers! I feel that teaching will give me the opportunity to give my daughter, and my husband a great deal of my time. Also, if I might add; we all know that teacher pay is a little on the low side, but I ask you to consider this. How many jobs pay you to work for only ten months out the year. Also, consider all the holidays, and workdays that are in the calendar. When you think about it that way, there are definitely some perks to teaching; outside the fact that we get to touch the lives of numerous children!

I want to persue teaching because I want make a difference in children's lives. I want to be responsible for helping children learn. I think that I will be able to reach children. I have babysat for over 11 years and feel that I understnd children and can plan lessons and activities that would not only help them gain knowledge, but also are fun and intresting. Too, I want to teach so I can how to interact with one another. So often children come to Kindergarden not knowing how to share or get along with others and I feel like I could sucessfully show them how to interact with one another. I feel that I am an approachable person who children like. I feed off children's energy, so seeing them make progress and knowing that I have been responsible for helping them make this progress, will in turn make me a positive energetic teacher. I had to work very hard in school and things did not come eaisly, so I want to help those like me who really need speical help and instruction, like I did!
